Upgrade Your Browser

If you choose to install or upgrade your current version of Internet Explorer, you may install the version from the Microsoft website online:

You may install the version of Netscape from the Netscape website online:

You need an active Internet connection to upgrade your browsers.

Reset Your Default Browser

Internet Explorer

Open Internet Explorer. Go to the Tools menu, and select Internet Options.

Select the Programs tab. Locate the check box on the bottom that reads "IE should check to see whether it is the default browser." Check it. Close browser, then reopen.

IE will ask you if you want to make it the default browser. Click yes. Close the browser.

Open Netscape. Go to the Edit menu, and select Preferences.

Click "Set default browser."

If this option is not available, visit the following web site for instructions:

CD Autolaunch

If you put the CD-ROM in your drive and nothing happened, you need to make sure your computer knows it should open HTM files with either Internet Explorer or Netscape.

For PC Users:

Go to START > Settings > Control Panels.
Select Folder Options.
Click the File Types tab.
Scroll down to Extensions: HTM and select that line in the list of file types.
Click the button "Change..."
In the list of programs, select either Internet Explorer or Netscape.
Click "OK"

If neither of those programs is in the "Open With" list, you do not have those programs installed, or perhaps they are installed incorrectly. If this is the case, install one of those browsers and repeat this process.

After you have assigned a browser to open HTM files, eject and reinsert the CD-ROM. The program should automatically open.

Macintosh users should not encounter this issue.

If so, MAC OSX users can do the following:

Select the file WINDOW.HTM in the LICAL CD-ROM, then press Command+I to Get Info on that file.
Select "Open with application" from the drop-down menu.
Select Internet Explorer or Netscape, choose whether to change just that file or all HTM files.
